Registro Cáncer de Granada

" The cancer registry is an essential part of any rational programme of cancer control, benefiting both the individual and society in which he lives" (Muir et al., 1985)

The main objective in a Population-based Cancer Registry is to know the number of new cancer cases diagnosed among residents within the geographic area covered by the Registry in a given time period- that is to say, to determine the cancer incidence, usually expressed per 100,000 inhabitants per year.

These data can be used for disease control in different areas - epidemiological research, primary and secondary prevention, health planning and patient care.
