What is the Granada Cancer Registry?
The Granada Cancer Registry is a population-based cancer registry, which began its activity in 1985 as a project under the auspices of the Ministry of Health of the Andalusian Regional Government, attached to the Andalusian School of Public Health. Data are collected from patients living in the province of Granada and diagnosed with cancer since January 1985. This allows understanding cancer incidence in Granada, time trends in incidence and survival of patients. This information is useful for cancer surveillance and control in Granada and serves as a basis for cancer epidemiological research.
